Club history

The FC Luzern women are the first women-only football club in Switzerland. The club was established on 1 July 2004 SC LUwin.ch from the women 's football department of FC Sursee. This was no longer able to support the emerging women's team alone, which is why the manager Z'Rotz looked around for help. The success story began in 2002 with a double success: both the league title as well as the Cup victory to win the football team of its own. With the exception of 2003, the Cup victory went four times in a row ( 2002, 2004 - 2006) to the women of the SC Luwin. The glorious winning streak was crowned with the UEFA Women 's Cup. For the first time in the history of the Swiss women's football team reached a the second round.

Consequently, the awards were not long at: Marisa Brunner was elected twice to the Player of the Year. Even Lara Dickmann and Monica Di Fonzo could win the title for themselves. SC LUwin.ch was incorporated from the 2011/2012 season as its own section at FC Luzern. The aim of this integration into the main club is to promote women's football in Central Switzerland targeted. The talented young footballers will benefit not only in footballing field, but also in other aspects of the collaboration with the traditional club. The women's football section of the FC Luzern is set in July 2011 at the junior level, alongside the existing U15 team (C- juniors), a U13 team. Current situation

With relegation from the top flight in the summer of 2008, the FC Luzern women completed (then SC LUwin.ch ) the designated sporting failures greatest crisis.
