The Shatt Mountain is a 2097 m above sea level. A. high mountain in the Kitzbühel Alps in the Austrian state of Salzburg.

Location

The Shatt mountain is regarded as the local mountain of the Pinzgauer community Saalbach-Hinterglemm, which lies about 3 kilometers north. It marks the end of a ridge, which runs from 2249 m high Hochkogel over the 2092 m high Saalbachkogel and the 2123 m high Stemmerkogel north. In the West leads the Schwarzach ditch, to the east the valley of the laborers Bach down to Glemmtal. The mountain has three peaks: the Shatt Mountain West 2096 m, the central peak 2097 m and the Shatt -east mountain 2018 m, the north-east corner of the Dillinger (1875 m) is upstream.

Development

The Shatt - mountain West and Schattschneider Mountain East are accessible from Hinterglemm and Saalbach with ski lifts, which are part of the Saalbach -Hinterglemm- Leogang. Prior to the 2002 built cable car circulation Schattberg X-Press, led the Shatt Built in 1960 by mountain railway from Saalbach to the middle summit. This aerial tramway was after reconstruction in 1973 the largest gondola ( 100 people per cabin) of Austria with the strongest support cable (63 mm) in the world.

Around the mountain are several huts. The area is accessible by hiking trails. To the main summit, the summit means, of marked walks from the northwest and northeast. On the western and eastern summit lead gravel driveways that are popular with mountain bikers. To the south there is a marked trail or a ski route to the Pinzgauer walk, a popular trail.
