Schlierbach is an Austrian municipality in the district of Kirchdorf an der Krems in Upper Austria Traun quarter with 2775 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013).
The competent court is the district of Kirchdorf an der Krems.
The best-known attraction is the Abbey of Schlierbach.

Geography
Schlierbach is on 478 m altitude in the Krems Valley. The expansion is 5.7 kilometers from north to south and from west to east 7.1 km. The total area is 18.5 km ². 12.4% of the area is forested and 71.9 % of the area is used for agriculture.

The municipality comprises the cadastral Maisdorf, Mitter Schlierbach and sub Schlierbach.
The two districts Haselböckau and corn village located west of Krems and form the cadastral Maisdorf. The other districts are located east of Krems and form the cadastral Mitter Schlierbach and sub Schlierbach.

History
Originally in the eastern part of the Duchy of Bavaria lying, was the place since the 12th century the Duchy of Austria. - . Schlierbacher Schaukäserei: Since 1924, in the monastery Schlierbach in the pen, the ' Schlierbacher cheese ' produced - currently twelve different varieties. The dairy is designed as a demonstration dairy for tourists.
- Schlierbacher Genusszentrum: The profit center is located in the monastery complex was opened in 2004. Theater:
Schlierbach has its own auditorium near the pin, which is used by many organizations. Literary local suppliers: The Literary grocery stores are a cultural initiative of the municipality Schlierbach. Founded they were in 1999 at the suggestion of literature interested Schlierbachern working since then volunteer for this project. 2000 received the Literary local suppliers the Culture Prize of the Province of Upper Austria for culture initiative work.
Since 1999, the literary organize local suppliers readings. About eight times a year will be invited to Schlierbach to carry forward from their works writers. In 1991, the municipality had 2515 inhabitants according to the census; 2001 then 2717 inhabitants.

Official description of the municipality coat of arms: Split; , Left of Black, Silver and Red split right into a geradarmiges silver, red Tatzenkreuz twice. The municipality colors are black, white and red.
Economy
One important industry is in the municipality of organic farming. From this tradition, the monastery cheese factory founded in 1924, also came into being. Since then emerged cheeses, with the original Schlierbacher is produced since 1924 without interruption. This is entered in the register of traditional foods. This tradition has been involved since 2006, the whole community in the project Genussregion Austria called Schlierbacher cheese.
The poultry farming consists in Schlierbach as well as in the surrounding communities. For this reason, the enjoyment region was extended to poultry Schlierbacher 2007.

- Margret Bilger (1904-1971), artist, spent much time in Schlierbach for producing glass paintings. Margret Bilger portrayed among other students of the high school Schlierbach.
- Johann Michael Zeitlinger (1803-1860), Sense trades in Blumau let built there including the new mansion.
- Dina Kuhn (1891-1963) (actually Bernhardine Kuhn ), Austrian ceramist, a member of the Wiener Werkstätte, died in Schlierbach
