Schöps

Schoeps is a municipality in the south of the Saale- wood - country circuit in Thuringia.

Geography

The municipality is located in the Saale valley about 10 km south of Jena in about 170 meters. The district Schoeps is to the left of the Saale and the suburb of Hunters Village is on the right of the Saale. East of Schoeps is the Thuringian wood land west extends the Saale- Ilm- plate.

History

Schoeps was first mentioned on February 21, 1293. The existence of the district Jägerndorf is dated in documents for 28 November 1228. The first men on the place were the Lobdeburger.
