Schraden

Schraden is a municipality in the Elbe -Elster in Brandenburg and part of the Office of Plessa.

Geography

The municipality bears the same name as the surrounding flat landscape Schraden between the rivers Pulsnitz and Schwarze Elster. To avoid dispute on the town name, this name was preferred over the one of the associated locations.

History

The town was founded in 1929 from the former gutszugehörigen outworks Lindenau / Großkmehlen and from parts of the districts Frauwalde, Großthiemig and Hirschfeld.
