Schwemser Spitze

The Schwemser tip, also called Oberettesspitze is with its 3459 meters high main peak of the highest mountain in Saldurkamm in the southern Ötztal Alps in the Italian Autonomous Province of Bolzano -Alto Adige. The tip has except the main summit still a 3337 meter high south peak. A prominent south ridge runs with one and a half kilometers in length down to the located at 3097 meters altitude Bildstöckeljoch, an important path transition between the Schnalstal and Matscher valley. The first ascent of the tourist peak Schwemser succeeded on September 2, 1875 J. Hoffmann, and mountain guide Josef Spechtenhauser.

Location

The Saldurkamm is a slightly curved towards the east mountain range, which takes its beginning in the north, on the south ridge of the white ball and drags to Mastauntal in a length of about 10 kilometers. The Schwemser tip lies about four kilometers in a straight line north-west of Maso Corto (Italian: Maso Corto ) Senales. It is surrounded by thick glaciers to vanish. To the west lies the Oberettesferner, in the northeast of rockfall Furthermore, and in the south of Schwemser addition. Adjacent peaks are along the Nordgrats, separated by the Oberettesjoch ( Passo D ' Oberettes, on 3251 meters above sea level ), the 3385 meter high outside source peak ( Cima della Sorgente di Fuori ), in the course of the elongated Südgrats the 3296 -meter-high Southern Oberettesspitze, then, separated by the location at 3097 meters above sea level Bildstöckeljoch ( Forcella del Santo ), the Saldurspitze ( Punta Saldura ) with 3433 meters of altitude. The western flank of the Schwemser tip drops into Matscher Valley, the eastern flank to Schnalstal.

Bases and Ascension

The path led Hoffmann and Spechtenhauser 1875 by Corto out in a northwesterly direction over the Schwemser Furthermore, first on the south summit and after overcoming a wall of ice to the northern peak in a walking time of about five hours. The now common rise is shorter, but more difficult. From the west located in Matscher valley at 2,670 meters above sea level Oberetteshütte it goes in a northeasterly direction as a high tour of the Oberettesferner up to Oberettesjoch. Then the path via the northwest ridge extending partially into, according to the literature, moderately severe difficulty in climbing UIAA II in a walking time of three hours south to the peaks.
