Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Drama Series

The Screen Actors Guild Award in the category Best Actor in a Television Series - Drama is one of the awards, which are annually awarded in the United States by the Screen Actors Guild, a union of actors. It is aimed at actors who have done an outstanding job in a major or minor role in a drama television series. The category was created in 1995. The winners will be chosen in a secret ballot by the full members of the union.

History and Records

During the last 20 years, the Screen Actors Guild has a total of 20 Awards in the category Best Actor in a TV Series - Drama awarded to 11 different actors. The first prize winner was Dennis Franz, who at the Screen Actors Guild Awards in 1995 for his role as Andy Sipowicz in New York Cops - NYPD Blue was honored. The latest up to winners was Bryan Cranston, who was honored for his role as Walter White in Breaking Bad at the Screen Actors Guild Awards 2014.
