Sébastien Bordeleau

Sébastien Bordeleau (born 15 February 1975 Vancouver, British Columbia ) is a retired French- Canadian professional ice hockey player ( center ), who was recently at the EHC Biel in the Swiss National League A under contract. His brother Paulin Bordeleau junior and his father Paulin Bordeleau senior were also professional hockey players.

Career

Sébastien Bordeleau began his career as a hockey player in the Canadian Junior Football League Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, where he was active for the Hull Olympiques 1991-1995. After two seasons with more than 50 points, he was also selected by the Montreal Canadiens in the NHL Entry Draft in 1993 in the third round to 73rd. For the 1995/96 season they picked him in the American Hockey League with the Fredericton Canadiens, the farm team of Montreal. His regular performances there were also rewarded with four NHL inserts. The following year, he already played half a season for the Montreal Canadiens and from the 1997/98 season he had his place in the NHL. For the 1998/99 season he moved to the Nashville Predators. Here he remained three years. Especially good especially his first season was where he was the fourth best scorer of the team and came up with 40 points scorer. He moved to Minnesota Wild but where he was not very successful and was often used in the farm team. In the 2001 /02 season, he tried again with the Phoenix Coyotes, but he only played six games there. He usually played back in the AHL with the Springfield Falcons.

In the summer of 2002, Bordeleau opted for a move to Europe and played in the next seven years at SC Bern in the Swiss National League A. In Bern he was one of the favorites of the public and won with his team in the season 2003/ 04 the Swiss Championship. After two very ordinary seasons, he disappointed in the season 2004/05. A year later, however, he came back with his usual strength back and not only was the best scorer of the Berne but also fourth- best scorer in the league. On 14 May 2009 he announced the SC Bern to want to leave and signed shortly thereafter a contract with Premier League rivals EHC Biel. With the Bielern succeeded in the 2011/12 season, the playoff qualification in which they were subject to EV train in the first round. Following this series of Franco-Canadian ended his active career.

Bordeleau is French - Canadian dual citizen. Its strengths lie in the areas of Bully game, combat power and scoring goals.

Internationally

Sébastien Bordeleau represented France at the A World Championships in 2004 and 2008 as well as to qualify for the 2006 Olympic Winter Games in Turin and qualifying for the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver.
