Sea area Mansfeld is a municipality in the district of Mansfeld - South Harz in Saxony- Anhalt.

Geography

Sea area Mansfeld region located in the eastern district of Mansfeld - Suedharz between Halle ( Saale) and Eisleben. The municipality is located in part on the agricultural Mansfeld plate and the lakes in the lowlands Eislebener, here is the 4 km long salt lake Sweet Lake. In the west, the land rises to the wooded foothills resin Hornburg saddle. On the steep slope rift between Worms and Seeburg life is the most northerly wine -growing region in Germany.

Neighboring municipalities are Eisleben in the West, Gerbstedt in the north, and Salzatal Teutschenthal the east and Obhausen, Schraplau, Farnstädt and cross- ford to the south.

History

The municipality was created on 1 January 2010 by the merger of the municipalities Amsdorf, Aseleben, Erdeborn, Hornburg, Lüttchendorf, Neehausen, Röblingen am See, Seeburg, Stedten and Wansleben the lake with background of municipal reform in Saxony- Anhalt. With its creation, the management community lake area was dissolved Mansfeld. The community Dederstedt that refused the annexation, was zwangseingemeindet on 1 September 2010 to the sea area Mansfeld by law.

The coat of arms was approved on 10 February 2010 by the county.

Blazon: "Semi Split and divided; Up front in gold crossed black hammer and chisel, top rear in black three golden ears, down in a silver blue fish. "

The colors of the community are blue and yellow.

Flag

The flag is blue - yellow (1:1) striped ( cross- shape: strips horizontally extending, longitudinal shape: strip running vertically ) and centrally occupied with the municipal coat of arms.

Traffic

The Federal Highway 80 ( Nordhausen Halle ( Saale )) and the railway Halle- Kassel traverse the municipality from west to east.

Industrial history

In 1909 the village Röblingen was started at the lake with the sinking of a shaft of the former " union Oberröblingen " in the district Oberröblingen. Of the 1,000 mining shares this mining union, the Adler Kaliwerke had 995 pieces. After completion of the well Oberröblingen should also to the adjacent pit eagle one underground connection can be made from this. Thus, both pits have a " second exit" features. However, due to uncontrollable saline inflows had to be finally abandoned in 1913 at a depth of at least 642 m already reached the bay Oberröblingen.

Situated near the village Wansleben am See is the disused potash United Ernst Hall. It was a pit with attached potash the " Mansfeld 's copper slate builders union ".
