Sennar (state)

Sennar (Arabic سنار, DMG Sennar ), alternative spelling Sennar or Sinnar, is a state in the southeast of the Sudan, which borders Ethiopia.

It has an area of 37,844 km ², a population of 1,374,405 inhabitants ( 2010 calculation ) and its capital is the city of Sennar.

History

From 1919 to 1991, the territory of today's state of Sennar belonged to the province of al - Nil - azraq.
