Sensation (event)

The sensation is one event in the field of electronic dance music. It is organized by the Dutch company ID & T.

In 2000, the first sensation was held. It was, as held in the following years, in the Amsterdam ArenA. 2002 Sensation Sensation White and Sensation Black was divided. Since 2008, Sensation White is called only " Sensation", the Sensation Black only " Black". The sensation is one of the largest and most successful dance events. The successful concept of sensation is due in addition to the idea of the audience in unit clothes on the combination of star DJs, elaborate lighting and laser show as well as decoration and pyrotechnics. The voice of John B. Wells accompanied the event, he makes announcements and holds short speeches.

Sensation (formerly Sensation White )

The sensation it is a condition that all guests appear in white clothing. Other colored decorations on clothes are permitted provided they turn out not too large. The motto is in every sensation: " Be Part Of The Night - Dress in White". The musical spectrum consists of house and electro. The later it gets, the harder and faster to sounds and rhythms. It is celebrated from 21:00 clock until half six in the morning. For this event (Event) all 40,000 tickets are sold out within a few hours usually. The sensation will be held in Amsterdam always on the first weekend in July.

2005 Sensation White concept was exported to Germany and Belgium. The first " Sensation White Germany" took place at Veltins Arena in Gelsenkirchen, with almost 15,000 visitors rather than the first " Sensation White Belgium" in the Sportpaleis in Antwerp. In 2006 the Sensation White was back in Antwerp (April 15 ), Amsterdam ( July 1) and Gelsenkirchen ( July 15).

In recent years, trance and house DJs like Paul van Dyk, Tiësto, Armin van Buuren, Ferry Corsten, Marco V, Erick Morillo, David Guetta and Tom Novy hung up.

With the lineup for 2006 in Germany and 2007 in the Netherlands, ID & T moved away from the traditional mix of house and trance. The first time was no longer represented DJ from the " trance ", which is partially met with harsh criticism in the scene.

From 2007 to 2010, Sensation White Germany, which operated on New Year's in the ESPRIT arena in Dusseldorf. 2011, the event was canceled because of discrepancies between ID & T and the local promoter. 2012 took the Sensation again on October 13 in Dusseldorf. In 2013, no sensation will be held in Germany.

2008 was the sensation in Santiago de Chile, Antwerp (now moved to Hasselt ), Budapest, Prague, Riga, St. Petersburg, Amsterdam, Vilnius, Wroclaw, Copenhagen, Madrid and Melbourne as well as Dusseldorf and in 2009 for the first time in Sao Paulo, in Vienna and in Zurich.

The Sensation 2009/2010 in Dusseldorf has placed almost 40,000 visitors a new record in Germany. Last year, only one came to 28,000. The Sensation 2012 was only 17,000 visitors.

Black (formerly Sensation Black )

When Black all black clothing is prescribed. It represents the counterpart to the sensation, that is, there will be invited hardstyle and hardcore techno DJs in the first place. 2002-2008 it was held in Amsterdam, since 2009 in Hasselt, Belgium.

On the Black already occurred DJs including Mauro Picotto, The Prophet, Headhunterz, Chris Liebing, Marco V, Yoji Biomehanika, Lady Dana, DJ Luna, The Dark Raver, Technoboy, DJ Promo, Catscan, Kai Tracid, DJ Zany, Showtek, Angerfist, Evil Activities and Endymion.

Since 2008, the earlier Sensation Black called only " BLACK " and is therefore not part of the Sensation series more. The Belgian Black was first held on 21 March 2009 in the Ethias Arena in Hasselt ( Belgium).
