Sergei Kolosov

Syarhey Apanassawitsch Kolassau (White Russian Сяргей Апанасавіч Коласаў, Russian Сергей Афанасьевич Колосов / Sergei Afanassjevitch Kolosov; born 22 May 1986 as Nawapolazk, Byelorussian SSR) is a Belarusian ice hockey defender who plays since 2011 at HK Neman Grodno in the Belarusian Extraliga.

Career

After Syarhey Kolassau had started his career at Polimir Nawapolazk, he gave in the 2003/04 season as a 16- year-old made ​​his debut in the first team of HC Dinamo Minsk of the Belarusian Extraliga. He spent almost the entire season and was selected by the Detroit Red Wings in the NHL Entry Draft in 2004 in the fifth round at position 151.

Although Kolassau had the opportunity to spend the 2004/05 season in the Canadian junior Western Hockey League, he remained in Belarus. The majority of the season he played at Dinamo, before he was transferred shortly before the end of the season to HK Junost Minsk, where he helped to win the Belarusian championship.

In summer 2005, he signed a contract with the Cedar Rapids Rough Riders in the U.S. Junior League United States Hockey League. In his first season, he had two goals and eight assists in his second year he came to a total of eleven points scorer, but mainly he failed his physical play on. After two years in North America, he returned to his home and played in the 2007/ 08 season again for the HK Dinamo Minsk.

After the end of the season he finally got in the summer of 2008, an entry contract with the Detroit Red Wings for two years and played from the fall of 2008, first at their farm team, the Grand Rapids Griffins in the American Hockey League. There he established himself in the main squad the team through an unspectacular but reliable way of playing on the defensive. But once in the season, he could shine in the offensive, as he scored three goals end of January 2009, within two games. In August 2011 he returned to Belarus and accepted a contract offer of HK Neman Grodno.

Syarhey Kolassau is a defender, which is especially noticeable in front of his own goal where he can use his height of 1.93 meters at best, to keep opposing forwards by being physically tough game. Offensively, he has, however, no special qualities, which is why he is regarded as a so-called " stay- at-home " defenseman.

Internationally

Syarhey Kolassau made ​​his debut for the Belarusian national team at the U18 World Cup 2003. Had His next assignments in the U20 -B World Cup 2004, where they managed the climb unbeaten in A group.
