Šestajovice (Náchod District)

Šestajovice ( German Schestowitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located seven kilometers east of Jaroměř and belongs to Okres Náchod.

Geography

Šestajovice is on the left of the Metuje in their river level below the confluence of the Rozkoš. Southeast of the nature reserve is Šestajovická stráň.

Neighboring towns are Volovka in the north, and Vinice Veselice in the northeast, Roztoky the east, Slavětín nad Metují the southeast, Rohenice and Jasenná in the south, and Stary Ples Kopeček in the west and Rychnovek and Zvole in the northwest.

History

Šestajovice was first documented in 1450.

After the abolition of patrimonial Šestajovice / Schestowitz formed in 1850 a municipality in the district Dvůr Králové nad Labem.

At the beginning of the 20th century, the Czech village name was also written Šestovice. In the 1930s, the church was transferred to the district Jaroměř. This was dissolved on January 1, 1961, and the village came to Okres Náchod. In the same context, the incorporation of Roztoky was. On April 30, 1976, the incorporation of Šestajovice and Roztoky after Jasenná was. The municipality consists Šestajovice since 1 September 1990 again.
