History
The company Severin emerged from a 1892 founded by Anton Severin blacksmith shop. After the First World War, the Anton Severin metal factory was founded. With the production of curtain rods, she was one of several companies in Sundern, which specialized in this area of metal products production. In 1922, the manufacturing location was moved within the city and also started the production of aluminum utensils. A short time later, this product line was abandoned. More important was the production of pie plates, coasters and glass plates, and later included trolley.
Until after the Second World War, the course of business remained rather modest. This changed after the currency reform; The company also benefited from the growing demand for consumer goods. In 1948 a new factory was built. Since 1952, Severin produced mainly electrical items, especially for the household. Between 1956 and 1962 the company expanded greatly and has been extended to four factory buildings.
