Shawn Michaels
Michael Shawn Hickenbottom ( born July 22, 1965, the Williams Air Force Base in Chandler, Arizona ) is a former American professional wrestler. Hickenbottom is better known by his ring name Shawn Michaels.
He held several times the highest title in WWE, and is therefore now regarded as one of the most successful actors of recent years.

Private
Michael Hickenbottom is married to his second wife Rebecca Curci Hickenbottom. They have a son and a daughter. He sees himself as a born-again Christian, which he also illustrated by his injury-related break between 1999 and 2002, during his performances. Together with the also very Christian Wrestlers Sting he performed on a broadcast of the religious television station Trinity Broadcasting Network.
Career
Hickenbottom began in 1984 as Shawn Michaels his career in the NWA Mid-South territory, and in the Texas All- Star Wrestling promotion Texas. A short time later, he met Marty Jannetty and formed a tag team with this from now on.
American Wrestling Association
In the American Wrestling Association, they received under the name The Midnight Rockers the local World Tag Team title. In 1987, she could sign a contract with the World Wrestling Federation. After just two weeks, but they were dismissed for wrongdoing and returned to the AWA.
World Wrestling Entertainment
In 1988, she received another chance in the World Wrestling Federation, this time under the name of The Rockers. They could win the WWF Tag Team title in 1990 against the Hart Foundation. Winning the title was never aired on television and was not officially mentioned.
In 1992, the team has been separated and Hickenbottom began a career as a single wrestler. Over time, he could develop into one of the most popular, but partly also the most hated wrestlers of the 1990s and 2000s as a result of numerous turns.
With the friendly colleagues Wrestling Kevin Nash (who under the ring name Diesel initially acted as Hicke Bottoms Bodyguard ), Scott Hall, Sean Waltman and Paul Levesque he formed the mid- 90's the so-called Kliq within the WWF. This grouping had temporarily a big impact on the bookings of individual matches. So Hickenbottom 1995 could win a Royal Rumble Match with the number 1 as the first wrestler. In addition, he was involved in May 1996 at the so-called Curtain Call: After a show at Madison Square Garden, the Faces Hickenbottom and Hall as well as the heels Levesque and Nash hugged and thus broke kayfabe, as Nash and Hall at the time, signed a contract with WCW had and wanted to say goodbye after their last WWF matches in the ring of her friends.
1997 Hickenbottom was actively involved in the so-called Montreal Screwjob. In this incident, he was allowed to receive the previously made agreement with Bret Hart win the WWF Championship.
Between the years 1998-2002 paused Hickenbottom because of a serious back injury.
In 2002 he was again active, and was first a member of the newly formed nWo. After a feud with Triple H was allowed to him in November, the World Heavyweight Championship for the first Elimination Chamber match to win. Only a month later, he had to give Triple H the title to his former colleagues. Then denied Hickenbottom a feud with Chris Jericho program. After an injury break of two months, which was established before the cameras by an attack by Kane, led to continue the feud with Triple H. As of October had Hickenbottom because of an injured meniscus then pause again.
In January 2005, he returned as a guest referee of the Elimination Chamber match at New Year's Revolution, from which developed a feud with Edge. Up to WrestleMania 21, he played a match series against Kurt Angle, were also involved in the short time Marty Jannetty and Sherri Martel. There followed a feud with Hulk Hogan. The end of 2005 began a feud with Shane and Vincent K. McMahon, which lasted until April 2006 Hickenbottom. Shortly after he was injured in the knee, which in turn forced him one more time for a break.
In June 2006, there was the official return of D-Generation X, which competed first few times against the McMahons and Big Show. In a feud with Rated- RKO program (Edge and Randy Orton ) to Triple H injured his thigh, which is why Hickenbottom team was active the next time along with John Cena in the day. He and Cena were together in January 2007, after defeating Rated- RKO, win the World Tag Team Championship. So there was a feud between him and Cena for the WWE Championship, which was not allowed to win HBK. Shortly after they lost their tag team title to the Hardys.
There followed a long injury break. On October 8, 2007 Hickenbottom made his comeback and began a feud with then- WWE Champion Randy Orton. He later feuded with Mr.Kennedy.
At WrestleMania 24, there was a match between Hickenbottom and his role model and good friend Ric Flair. Flair, now 59 years old, had to lose this match and end his career in WWE.
There was feud with Chris Jericho, the feud of the year, and then with JBL. At WrestleMania 25, he finished a feud with The Undertaker.
On 10 August 2009, Stable D- Generation X was reactivated at a RAW output. 13 December 2009 were Hickenbottom and Triple H at TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs defeat their foes Jeri - Show ( Chris Jericho and Big Show ) and were new Unified WWE Tag Team Champions.
On February 8, 2010 D- Generation X had the title to ShoMiz (Big Show and The Miz ) exits. At WrestleMania 26 Hickenbottom joined again against the Undertaker in a Streak vs. Career to match. Hickenbottom also had this match against the Undertaker lose and ended his career.
On 10 January 2011, announced on RAW, that it is taken at the WWE Hall of Fame Ceremony Show on April 2, 2011 one day before WrestleMania 27, in the Hall of Fame.
On April 1, 2012 Shawn Michaels came as a guest referee at Wrestlemania 28. He led the Hell in a Cell match between Triple H and The Undertaker.
On October 27, 2013, he held back from the function of a ring guest judge, this time at Hell in a Cell, where he headed the same Matchart between Randy Orton and Hicke Bottoms pupil Daniel Bryan and stood against Bryan.

Backstage controversy
Hickenbottom has long been notorious for his big ego. Of the ten titles that he held in the 1990s in the WWF, he lost by only three " defeats " in " regular " matches. All his Tag Team Championships, two of his Intercontinental Championships, and one of his WWF World Championships have been taken from him, he also gave his European Championship voluntarily Triple H from. This Hickenbottom prevented always, his own status by a defeat and thus possibly harming a clear title loss. At the ceremony to receive Bret Hart into the WWE Hall of Fame 2006 Hart announced in advance that they wanted to immediately leave the hall as soon as he would see Hickenbottom in the audience or backstage. So Hickenbottom therefore left the audience in front of Hart's appearance and expressed in interviews his respect for his former rival.
Due to the contract negotiations Bret Hart with the WWE Board Of Directors also Hart and Hickenbottom spoke from there. Thus, the two reconciled officially on 4 January 2010 with a handshake and hug, as Bret Hart made his first appearance since his departure in the WWE.

- Until a few years Hickenbottom had a Wrestling School in San Antonio, Texas, which now, however, no longer exists.
