Shem Kororia

Shem Kororia ( born September 25, 1972) is a Kenyan long-distance runner.

His biggest success on the track, he celebrated at the World Athletics Championships in Gothenburg in 1995, when he won the bronze medal at 5000 min -meter run in 13:17,59. For the same year, his best times in the 5000m originate ( 13:02,80 min) and 10,000 m ( 27:18,02 min).

Two years later he won at the World Half Marathon Championships in 1997 and remained with 59:56 minutes as the third man at all under the one- hour mark for the half marathon distance.

Then he tried his hand as a marathon runner and won twice (1999 and 2000) at the New York City Marathon in third place (the first time with his personal best of 2:09:32 h).
