Schiedlisk (Polish Siedliska; German historically free Pipa ) is a village in the municipality Zembowitz ( Zębowice ), Opole Voivodeship in Poland.

Geographical Location

Siedliska is located approximately 30 kilometers north-east of Opole in the historical region of Upper Silesia.

Local structure

The mayor's office Siedliska is a scattered settlement south of the road between Pruskau and Oschietzko. It is composed of scattered hamlets among the poor of the source Pruszowka ( Pruskauer water, and later Prussia Bach) together. Besides Siedliska this Sośnia (also Susznia, German Sosnie; later Trockenau ) Rosocha ( German Roßocha; later Rosenhof ) Łąki ( meadows ), and Piłat ( German Pi ( o) lot, later Waldweiler ) as well as in pre-war cards still Schedlitz (later Nordhof ).

History

The village was originally a colony of Pruskau and was called Pipa or in the mortgage book exclusively as Siedlisk. As a free - Pipa was an independent municipality. In his description of Silesia from 1845 describes Johann Georg knee the village already as a "free village" with its own mayor under the patrimonial of Fideikommiss Zembowitz. The Catholic settlement was the parish after Zembowitz and enrolled after free Kadlub. In 1865, included free Pipa 19 private residences and five agricultural buildings.

In the plebiscite in Upper Silesia on March 20, 1921 22 votes were cast to remain with Germany in free Pipa, 29 votes were for connection to Poland. With the voting district of Rosenberg, who had a majority voted for Germany, but remained free Pipa in the Weimar Republic.

From 1816 to 1945 free Pipa was part of the district Rosenberg OS in the district Zembowitz. As part of the National Socialist local renaming free Pipa was renamed on April 27, 1936 in free houses. On April 1, 1939, the community was free houses as well as Preußenau ( Pruskau ) amalgamated with free farms.

After the occupation by the Red Army in 1945 free Pipa was placed under Polish administration, which introduced the name Siedliska. Since 2008, the city also leads the official German place names Schiedlisk.
