Sighnaghi Municipality

Sighnaghis Munizipaliteti (Georgian სიღნაღის მუნიციპალიტეტი ) is a Munizipaliteti (Landkreis) in Georgia, in the Kakheti region. The administrative center is the city of Sighnaghis Munizipaliteti Sighnaghi. The area is 1251 km ². The Munizipaliteti has 42 652 inhabitants. To the west and northwest it is of Gurdschaanis and Sagaredschos Munizipaliteti, bounded on the southeast by the Dedopliszqaros Munizipaliteti and in the north and northeast of the Lagodechis Munizipaliteti and Republic of Azerbaijan.

In the Munizipaliteti are some sights. The favorite place for tourists is often even the small town Sighnaghi. About 2 km from Sighnaghi is the monastery Bodbe. According to tradition, the monastery was built there, where the holy Nino was buried.
