Simnas

Simnen is a city in the Rajongemeinde in Alytus Alytus in Lithuania. It is located about 70 km southwest of Vilnius.

History

Simnen received in 1626 the Magdeburg Law.

Others

In his novel The wanderer between two worlds says Walter Flex of the position battles with Simnen between the Russian and the German army, under which 1915 Flex ' comrade and friend Ernst Wurche fell. The wanderer Wurche represented in the book as the ideal image of the German war volunteer and front officer, was buried at Simnen.
