Singhanakhon District

Singhanakhon ( Thai: สิงห นคร ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the north of the province of Songkhla. The Songkhla province in Southern Thailand is located on the coast of the Gulf of Thailand.

Geography

Neighboring districts and territories ( from the south clockwise): Amphoe Mueang Songkhla which, Khuan Niang Hat Yai and in the province of Songkhla, Amphoe Pak Phayun Phatthalung Province and Amphoe Phra Sathing again in Songkhla. To the east is the Gulf of Thailand.

In the south of the county is the Thale Luang, north of the Thale Sap.

History

On 15 February 1988 Singhanakhon was first as a sub-district ( King Amphoe ) was established by eleven Tambon were separated from Amphoe Mueang Songkhla. On 19 July 1991 Singhanakhon was promoted to Amphoe.

Management

Amphoe Singhanakhon is divided into eleven subdistricts ( tambon), which continued in 77 village communities ( Muban ) are divided.

There is a city ( Mueang thesaban ) in the district:

  • Singhanakhon ( Thai: เทศบาล เมือง สิงห นคร ), consisting of parts of the tambon Ching Kho and Thamnop and the whole tambon Khao Hua and Sathing Mo.

There is also a small town ( thesaban tambon) in the district:

  • Chalae ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ชะ แล้ ), consisting of the whole tambon Chalae.

In addition, there are eight " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations) in the district.
