Siniša Martinovic ( born December 19, 1980 in Tuzla, SFR Yugoslavia ) is a Croatian- German ice hockey goaltender who stands since 2013 in the Heilbronner Falken in the 2nd Bundesliga under contract.

Career

Siniša Martinovic began his career with the EV Füssen. In the season 1999/ 00 he came to seven stakes in the regional. The next year Martinovic graduated 27 games in the league. After two years in the first team his home club, he joined the 2001/02 season as a backup behind Radek Tóth for ETC Crimmitschau to the 2nd Bundesliga. The next year, played the goalkeeper for the Heilbronner Falken, where he had six inserts behind the posed Marko Suvelo. For the season 2003/ 04 changed Martinovic for SC Bietigheim -Bissingen. In 2004 he returned for a year to ETC Crimmitschau, where he sat as a goalkeeper. After this good season, he moved to Kassel Huskies in the German Hockey League. Behind Joaquin Gage he came to a total of five games. From there it led Martinovic to league rivals Straubing Tigers and he was employed by mining license also with the Landshut Cannibals of the 2nd Bundesliga. For the season 2007/ 08 he returned again to the ETC Crimmitschau back, delivered from very good performances and led the relegation candidates in the playoffs. In the following season Martinovic was playing for the SC Bietigheim- Bissingen and was with the Steelers, also due to its performance, German second division champions. But since you renounced in Bietigheim -Bissingen on the rise right, he also denied the next season in the 2nd Bundesliga. There Martinovic came with the Steelers to the semifinals.

For the 2010/11 season the native Croatian changed again in the DEL and signed with the Iserlohn Roosters an annual contract. However, this was resolved in November 2010 by mutual agreement. In December he received a Einmonatsvertrag at Iserlohn DEL rivals Hamburg Freezers, as these had only a goalie available in this period. Beginning of January 2011 Martinovic was committed by the Schwenningen Wild Wings from the 2nd Bundesliga, who wanted to protect themselves before the end of the exchange period at the goalkeeper position.

Internationally

Siniša Martinovic represented the Croatian national team in five international tournaments, including four world championships. At the World Championship 2001 Division I National Team finished fourth ( 24th place overall). The next year was at the 2002 World Championships Division I fifth place to Beech ( 26th place overall). The 2003 World Cup Div. I, which took place in Croatia, was not successful for Martinovic. The sixth place ( 27th place overall) meant the descent before a home crowd. For the first time the keeper did not come in all the games used. At the tournament the Division II 2004 the decision was made to move up until the last game against the Chinese national team after the Croats had won all the games. However, a 3-1 lead after the second period was not enough, as China scored three goals in the final section and won with 4:3. At the end remained as only the second place ( 32nd overall). In November 2004, Martinovic failed with Croatia in the first round of qualifying for the 2006 Olympic Winter Games in Turin.

Family

Siniša Martinovic is the older brother of Sasa Martinovic, who is also a professional hockey player. This also started in the junior section of the EV Füssen with ice hockey, but plays as a defender.
