Sir Edward Winnington, 1st Baronet

Sir Edward Winnington, 1st Baronet (c. 1727; † December 9, 1791 ) was a British politician.

Life

Edward Winnington was the eldest son of Edward Winnington and his wife Sophia (nee boats). The deputy Francis Winnington was his uncle. Edward Winnington attended Eton College and then Trinity College, University of Oxford. In 1748 he ran unsuccessfully for a by-election in the constituency of Bewdley. On February 15, 1755 he was made a baronet. At the general election in 1761 he was finally elected in this constituency in the House of Commons and was this on to 1768. After Winnington was defeated in the election in 1768, he succeeded in 1769 by a petition again in the House of Commons to collect. This time he was a member of the House of Commons on 25 January 1769 to 1774. In a bid again renounced Winnington.

On August 14, 1748 he married Mary Ingram. The marriage was a son, Edward, out. This succeeded him as the second Baronet.
