Sir Thomas Winnington, 3rd Baronet

Sir Thomas Edward Winnington, 3rd Baronet (* March 13, 1779; † September 24, 1839 ) was a British politician.

Life

Thomas Winnington was the eldest son of Edward Winnington, 2nd Baronet and his wife Anne, daughter of Thomas Foley, 1st Baron Foley. He had four brothers and five sisters. He attended Eton College and then the Christchurch College, University of Oxford. On January 9, 1805 he succeeded his father as 3rd Baronet. From 1806 to 1807 held the office of High Sheriff Winnington of Worcestershire. In the course of his life Winnington was several times in the House of Commons. He represented from 1807 to 1816 the constituency Droitwich, from 1820 to 1830 the constituency Worcestershire, 1831-1832 again the constituency Droitwich and finally from 1832 to 1837 the constituency Bewdley.

On November 11, 1810, he married Joanna Taylor. The marriage produced three sons and four daughters were born. His son Thomas succeeded him as 4th Baronet.
