Siraj Gena

Siraj Gena (born 12 November 1984) is an Ethiopian marathon runner.

He was third in the Dubai Marathon 2005. The following year he finished second in Dubai and third at the Nagano Marathon. A 13th place at the Amsterdam Marathon in 2007 followed in 2008 and 2009, a fourth place in Nagano. End of the season 2009, he was with his previously best time of 2:10:41 h ninth at the Frankfurt Marathon.

In 2010 he was second at the first Mumbai marathon and then won the Rome Marathon with his personal best of 2:08:39 h The last 500 meters he put it back barefoot to secure a special premium, which the organizer in memory had exposed the 50th anniversary of Abebe Bikilas Olympic victory. In the fall he won in storm -like conditions the Beijing Marathon in 2:15:45.
