Sirte District
Surt (or Sirte, Arab سرت, DMG Surt ) is a Munizip, located in the north central part of the Libyan Arab Republic in the Gulf of Sidra. Capital of Munizips is the city of Surt.
Geography
In the entire area of Surt lived in 2003 about 156 389 people in an area of 77,660 km ² in total at that time. In the north the Munizip bordering the Mediterranean Sea, on the land, it borders the following municipalities:
- Munizip al - Wahat - East
- Munizip al - Dschufra - South
- Munizip al - Jabal al - Gharbi - West
- Munizip Misrata - Northwest
Administrative history
In the wake of the Libyan administrative reform of 2007, the boundaries of the Munizips been corrected.
