Entrance to Fort Skardu
Fort Skardu Fort or Karpachu is a weir above the town Skardu in Gilgit -Baltistan, which was built between the 8th and 10th century AD. The fort was built by the rulers of Rmakpon Dynasty from Baltistan and was originally a seven-storey building, until it was burnt down by Sikhs in the 18th century.
The mosque on the site of the fort probably dates from the 16th century, the period in which the northern Pakistan was Islamized.
