Skippy: Adventures in Bushtown
Skippy the Bush Pilot is an Australian animated series from the year 1998. A total of 26 episodes were produced, each with 24 minutes. The series was produced by Yoram Gross, who has among other things the series Blinky Bill invented and produced.
Action
After Aegidius Plato, the senile mayor of Bush Town, has become too old, it can be a new election. Crocodile, a garbage man from Bush Town, is determined due to a failure to succeed the mayor. Together with his friends from the waste facility located crocodile sets in the luxurious villa of the mayor. The hated croc is so henceforth in Town Bush calling the shots. Through corruption and infamy crocodile soon has all Bush Town in its claws. While he wants to get popular with hypocritical, but credible methods to the outside world, he secretly only their own enrichment in the head. Among other things, he washes money, steals from the birds and building illegal dams. Skippy, the bush pilot and his friends can thwart with great ingenuity the plans of crocodile, his wife Ottilie and his henchmen over again. Bush Town is about the size of Sydney, and is inhabited by millions of intelligent beings. Most mammals are among the kangaroos. In reptiles, the crocodiles make up the largest number, but most of the inhabitants of Bush Town are birds. The city expands by Skippy explanation ever further.
The characters
- Skippy is a baseball cap wearing kangaroo, which is always helpful and especially smart. His profession is actually park ranger in the National Park of Bush Town, but he is still practicing other professions when it comes to help the residents of Bush Town. Together with his friends he thwarted the plans of the dastardly mayor crocodile.
- Mathilda is a pretty lady and kangaroo Skippy's girlfriend. She is a journalist with Bush Town TV and produces the newscast and show Good evening, Bush Town. She is also very resourceful when it comes to prevent with Skippy crocs plans.
- Pos is a Bürstenschwaz Possum. He operates the camera in Mathilda's TV team. He is always there when crocodile occurs again herself in trouble and then have to figure out talk on camera anyway. He speaks very rare in the entire series, which is becoming a running joke.
- Bottle -Willi is responsible for the technology in the studio of Mathilda. Also he is always willing to stop crocodile. About him little is known. He has for many years a very good friend of Skippy.
- Professor McZweistein is a crane, and the only scientist of Bush Town. His inventions are often abused by crocodile, but he manages to produce so many useful remedies for Skippy. He is without a doubt awesome and also seems to have a vein of medicine and philosophy. He lives in a house that looks like a giant walnut.
- Miss Emma is the lovable housekeeper in Professor McZweisteins house. She has prepared many a good tip, which further helps Skippy. It is professed monarchist.
- Crocodile is a sneaky crocodile and the selected wrongly Mayor of Bush Town. He forges again and again plans to enrich themselves. Together with his three henchmen he concocts plans, which would actually work, were it not for Skippy ...
- Ottilie is the wife of Mayor Croco. It is addictive and would always like to be in the limelight. Mathilda is her an eyesore, as Mathilda always manages, Ottilie to the right light, that is, to make them look bad. Ottilie is also almost addicted to luxury, riches and limitless political power.
- Handle, slide and Dieter are the three stooges of crocodile. They are the ones who need to run crocs plans and with their Schusseligkeit screw up so much.
Production and publication
The series comes from Yoram Gross and based on the successful series Skippy the Bush Kangaroo from the 1960s. The production was done by Yoram Gross EM- TV Pty.. Limited.
The German premiere took place on 4 January 1999 to 1 June 1999 on Super RTL instead. This was followed by repeats at Junior and Ki.Ka and a broadcast by ORF 1 Four episodes published by Edel Germany on VHS tape.
