History

The Skövde IK was founded in 1957. The association could make the first time in the 1978/79 season attracted attention as the men's team took part in the then Division 1 second-rate. Although the team was relegated in their first season back in the then third-rate from Division 2, but it has established itself in the 1980s in Division 1. In the 2003 /04 season the Skövde IK reached the summit in the new second division HockeyAllsvenskan. In the following season, however, the league has been missed. Since then, the team plays in the now third-rate Division 1
