Sky Sword II

The Tien Chien II (Sky Sword II) is a medium-range air - to-air missile, which is used by the Taiwanese Air Force since 1999. Developed and produced it is from Chungshan Institute of Science and Technology ( CSIST ) since the early 1990s. Unlike the name suggests, is the Tien Chien II no successor to the Tien Chien I - it is rather the medium-range extension for the Taiwanese Air Force.

The search head is based on a design by Motorola and Raytheon. Overall, Raytheon delivered 200 seeker kits to the CSIST.

In various magazines, including Jane 's Defence Weekly, it was reported that the CSIST based on the Tien- Chien II missile developed missiles. Among other things, an air -to-ground anti-radar missile ( Tien Chien IIA ) and a surface to air missile are provided.
