Slovak Super Liga

The Corgoň league is the highest football league in Slovakia since the 2003/ 04 season and is sponsored by the brewery based in Nitra Corgoň. The highest Slovakian league has borne the name of Mars superliga in seasons 1993/1994 in 2002/ 2003. The first Slovak football league was established in 1939. During the first Slovak Republic five seasons have been played to the end, in the sixth season (1944 /45), only the first two rounds. After 1993, after the end of the federation with the Czech Republic, the common division has been discontinued. The viewers interest is relatively low.
