Söchtenau

Söchtenau is a community in the Upper Bavarian district of Rosenheim with the two parishes Schwabering and Söchtenau. The municipality borders on the south by the Simssee and stretches to Vogtareuth.

Geographical Location

The area contains several lakes, the Simssee, the Siferlinger Lake, a small bog lake on the large stucco villages Moor and on the edge of the municipality a small part of the swimming lake Rinssee.

History

The first mention was in the year 924 Söchtenau belonged to Rentamt Burghausen and the district court district Kling and was in the course of administrative reform in Bavaria in 1818 an independent political community.
