Sofian Chahed (Arabic سفيان شاهد, DMG Sufiyan Sahid; born April 18, 1983 in Berlin ) is a German - Tunisian football player. He usually plays in the position of right-back, but can also be in the right and the defensive midfield accrue.

Career

Clubs

He began with four years in September 1987 at FV Wannsee to play football. In 1991 he moved to the youth department of Hertha Zehlendorf. Before Hertha BSC Chahed played in the FV Wannsee and Hertha Zehlendorf.

Hertha BSC

In 1999 he moved to the youth department of Hertha BSC and here was German Junior B Champion 1999 /2000. In 2002 he came to the regional team. Hannover 96

In August 2009, he signed a two -year contract with Hannover 96, to give there, especially right-back stability. In the very first season at Hannover 96, he was able to convince, and scored his only goal for Hannover. However, he could never displace Steven Cherundolo. Due to a prolonged injury to Cherundolo, he came at the beginning of the second half of the season 2012/13 to more inserts on the position of right-back as a regular player. Against FC Schalke 04 he was the first full-backs in the team of Hannover 96, who gave an assist. In the following game against VfL Wolfsburg, he prepared two more goals. For the 2013/2014 season Chahed received a new contract in Hanover.

Since mid-September, he kept fit on the regional league SV Babelsberg 03. End of December 2013 Chahed played at second division Greuther Fuerth who were looking for a backup for Daniel Brosinski, prior to a commitment was there but then not.

National

After Chahed had played in the youth nor for the DFB, he decided in 2009 to play for the Tunisian national team. Chahed stated the reason that this is a matter of the heart. He made his debut October 11, 2009 in a World Cup qualifier against Kenya.

Private

His father is Tunisian camel and played in his home in the gate, his mother Sylvia is German, the brother Djamel has previously played football. His twin sisters Sarah and Nadia are swimmers.

It is easy to be confused with his former teammates Sofien Chahed.

Since 2011, Sofian Chahed committed to Show Racism the Red Card - Germany eV In November, he participated in a workshop organized by the Education Initiative and told the pupils about his own experiences with racism and discrimination.
