Somalia national bandy team

The Somali Bandynationalmannschaft the Lords presents Somalia in international matches in Bandy. Somalia takes 2014 as the first African team at the Bandy World Championships in part.

The team consists of Somali refugees living in Sweden Borlänge. To better integrate the refugees into society, was launched on the initiative of the citizen Patrik Andersson the team into life. The Swedish Bandylegende Per Fosshaug acts since May 2013 as the coach of the team.

In the first international game of the team under the Bandy World Championship 2014 Russian Irkutsk Somalia lost in front of around 700 spectators against the also debuting German national team with 1:22. Hareo Anwar scored the intermediate 1:9 and thus the first goal for Somalia. Somalia ranked at the end of the 17th place among 17 participants.
