Sonic Team

Sonic Team (Japaneseソニック チーム, Sonikku Chimu ) is a Japanese computer and video game development team of the company Sega.

History

It was founded in 1988 as Sega Amusement Machine Research & Development Department # 8 ( AM8 ). Founder of team was Yuji Naka. 1991 was changed to Sonic Team for the great success of Sonic the Hedgehog 's name. 2000, the division as an independent subsidiary KK Sonic Team (株式会社 ソニック チーム, Kabushiki - gaisha Sonikku Chimu ) outsourced. In 2004 the company was re- incorporated into Sega and has since then served only as a brand. In the same year the creator of Sonic, Naoto Ōshima left the Sonic team and devoted himself to his own project artoon.
