Sony Ericsson K850i

The Sony Ericsson K850 is a UMTS mobile phone of the Swedish- Japanese telecommunications company Sony Ericsson. The phone was developed under the code name Sofia and is the successor of the Sony Ericsson K800. The K850i is available in three colors: Luminous Green, Quicksilver / Black and Blue Velvet.

The device in addition to the camera function is uncommon with a modified operation of the condition for the manufacturer. So the Navigationsstaste is no longer mounted above the numeric keypad, but executed as a rectangular button, which have the number keys 2 and 5 wraps. Also new are the separate keys for answering and ending calls, which were otherwise traditionally served with the softkeys. Another novelty is that with Sony Ericsson devices in addition to the Memory Stick Micro ( M2) Sony's also the more widespread Micro-SD/Transflash-Standard is supported.

The prototype Sofia name also refers to the hardware platform of the K850i, which will be used for future mobile phones from the house of Sony Ericsson.

Known Issues

One problem is the so-called Blue Ring Of Death (similar to Blue Screen of Death ), since in this problem the phone screen does not display anything, but each lighting element, among others, also the blue ring around the camera, lit. This is a software problem and can be fixed with a firmware update. It is, as usual with such profound changes, not all previously secured content (for example, SMS, pictures, etc.) are lost.
