Souk Ahras Province

The Souk Ahras Province (Arabic ولاية سوق أهراس, DMG Wilāyat Sūq Ahras ) is a province ( wilaya ) in the far eastern Algeria.

The province is located on the Tunisian border, it includes the city of Souk Ahras, together with its surrounding area and has an area of ​​4,029 km2.

Around 411,000 people ( 2006 estimate ) live in the province, the population density is thus approximately 102 inhabitants per square kilometer.

The provincial capital is Souk Ahras, the former Tagaste.
