South American Basketball Championship 1940

The Basketball South American Championship in 1940, the eighth Basketball South American Championship, took place between the 20 th and January 28, 1940 held in Montevideo, Uruguay, which hosted the championship for the second time. Winner was the national team of Uruguay that could win the title for the third time. For the fourth time in a row at the same time was the organizer of the Championship and winner of the tournament. For the first time the national team of Paraguay participated in the tournament.
