South St. Paul is a city in Dakota County in the U.S. state of Minnesota. It is located about ten kilometers southeast of Saint Paul and has around 20,000 inhabitants.

South St. Paul is on the Mississippi River south-east of Saint Paul located in the metropolitan region of the Twin Cities. According to the United States Census Bureau, the area of the city is 15.9 square miles, of which 1.0 square miles of water.
History
The area of present-day South St. Paul was originally settled by the Mdewakanton Indians., European settlers in the area settled until the 19th century.
