Davie is a town in Broward County in the U.S. state of Florida with 7,345 inhabitants ( 2010). The metropolitan area has a size of 88.5 km ².

Geography

Southwest Ranches is located about 25 km north of Miami. Adjacent municipalities are Weston, Davie, Cooper City and Pembroke Pines. In the west the city is bordered by the Everglades.

Demographics

According to the 2010 census, the then 7,345 inhabitants distributed to 2,389 households. The population density was 218.0 inh. / Km ². 85.9 % of the population were white, 5.4% African American, 0.6 % Native American and 2.8 % Asian Americans. 2.3% were members of other ethnic groups and 2.9% in different ethnic groups. 33.3% of the population were Hispanic or Latino.

In 2010, children under the age of 18 and 26.3 % of all households lived in 41.2 % of all households with persons at least 65 years. 85.9 % of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or a parent with offspring ). The average size of a household was 3.27 persons and the average family size is 3.45 people.

27.2% of the population were younger than 20 years, 17.8% were 20-39 years old, 36.9 % were 40-59 years old and 18.2 % were at least 60 years old. The median age was 44 years. 50.6 % of the population were male and 49.4 % female.

The average annual income was $ 104,500, while 3.7 % of the population lived below the poverty line.
