Spawn of Possession

Spawn of Possession is a company incorporated in 1997, technical death metal band from Kalmar, Sweden.

Biography

Spawn of Possession is a technical death metal band in February 1997 by Jonas Bryssling (guitar), Jonas Karlsson (guitar), and Dennis Röndum ( guttural vocals and drums ) was founded.

After three years, the band recorded their first demo CD "The Forbidden" and found shortly afterwards in Nick Dewerund the appropriate bassist. The response to the demo was very positive and so the band decided a year later to record the second demo CD "Church of Deviance ". After good reviews without exception, the record label Unique Leader Records took the band under contract.

The band spent six months at the new songs and took in June 2002 their debut album "Cabinet " on. To this end, they sought to Pama Studios and worked with producer Magnus Sedenberg, by means of which recorded the album Cabinet, mixed, mastered and was released.

To promote the new album, the band went together with Disavowed, Vile, Inhume and Mangled on a four-week tour of Europe. Shortly after, a six-week tour of North America, which denied the band with label mates the band Severed Savior, pyaemia, and Gorgasm. The tour included 27 concerts, five of them in Canada.

After the band returned from North America, followed by another tour of Europe that included the annual so-called " No Mercy package" with bands like Cannibal Corpse, Hypocrisy, Kataklysm, Exhumed, Vomitory and Carpathian Forest. In the summer, followed by eight other festivals, among others, Fuck the Commerce ( Germany ), Stonehenge (Netherlands), Grind You Mother ( Italy), and Mountains of Death ( Switzerland ).

During this period and thereafter until in the fall of 2004 in, Spawn of Possession began on new material for the second album to work. The operation was interrupted by a tour deal with the scene size Cannibal Corpse through Scandinavia and the Baltic States. The band recorded this with thanks, as it was a big challenge, but at the same time an experience of enrichment. The tour included 24 concerts, through which the band was able to increase their ever-growing fan base.

After the tour of the composition process initiated were completed for the second studio album and the band started in 2006, again in the Pama Studios. Between May and June of the same year, Spawn of Possession went with bands like Hate Eternal, Shadows Land and Fall of Serenity once again on tour in Europe. In July 2006, the now finished second studio album " Noctambulant " by the record label Neurotic Records was released and enjoyed great popularity.

Influences

Spawn of Possession has been influenced by many different artists from different styles, but mainly by death metal and classical music. Great influence exerted bands like Death, Morbid Angel, Suffocation, Gorguts and the composer Johann Sebastian Bach, Sylvius Leopold Weiss and Dmitri Shostakovich.
