Spirkelbach
Spirkelbach is a municipality in the southwest, in Rhineland -Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Hauenstein.
Geography
Spirkelbach is located in the Palatinate Forest between Hauenstein and Annweiler am Trifels. 76.5 % of the district area is forested. Hell Mountain in the south, the Rindberg the north and the Rauhberg in the west surround the place. Many colored sandstone cliffs invite you to beautiful views, eg the loose stone in the beef mountain, or Rauhberg rocks with Otto Wendel tower, which is very famous among rock climbers.
History
The creek Spurchinebach 828 was first mentioned. He ran through a then still uninhabited forest area, which was donated to the monastery of Hornbach. The place can be detected since 1303.

The local council in Spirkelbach consists of twelve council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 by majority vote, and the honorary mayor as chairman.
