Sputnik Nizhny Tagil

Sputnik Nizhny Tagil (Russian Спутник Нижний Тагил ) is an ice hockey club established in 1948 the Russian city of Nizhny Tagil. The team plays in the second-rate Wysschaja Hockey League.

History

The club was founded in 1948 as Nizhny Tagil Dserschinez. Until 1992, the team played in the Soviet unterklassigen leagues. 1992-1997 played the club either second-or third-rate. From 1997 to 2010, the club played continuously in the sub-prime Wysschaja league. In 2010 he was included in its successor league Wysschaja Hockey League.

Sputnik Nizhny Tagil acts as a farm team of the KHL participant Awtomobilist Yekaterinburg.
