SpVgg Ansbach

The Spielvereinigung Ansbach 09 eV is a sports club from Ansbach in Central Franconia with a football and a karate Department.

History

Start-up phase

With the establishment of the football department of TV 1860 Ansbach in 1909, the history of the club began. During World War II, the department for three years was dissolved. The SpVgg Ansbach 09 was founded in 1917 tied aware of the history of the football department of the TV and wore a register of associations with the founding year 1909. However, the new club had a precursor in the 1st FC 1912 Ansbach.

Known player

  • Hans -Jürgen Brunner, longtime professional of the 1st FC Nuremberg, led the team in 2001 as a player and assistant coach for promotion to the Regionalliga Süd. Coaches from 2003 to 2005 and from 2009 to 2010, between sports coordinator.
  • Sandro Cescutti belonged to the team in 2001 and rise to the Regional squad. Excited in the Regionalliga season of positive attention and was obliged by the Bundesliga side TSV 1860 Munich, but never came to a Bundesliga use. Was then player at TSG 1899 Hoffenheim before moving to VfR Aalen.

  • The Bundesliga player and former U-21 national player Andreas Wolf played in the Youth for SpVgg Ansbach, before joining the 1st FC Nuremberg.

Stadium

The sports park opened in 1976. The stadium holds 5,000 spectators for courses, including 600 and 400 uncovered covered seats. Since 1 July 2007, the club's sports complex is named after a local paint manufacturer PIGROL Sports Park.
