St. Paul Rangers

The St. Paul Rangers were an American ice hockey franchise of the Central Hockey League from Saint Paul, Minnesota.

History

The St. Paul Rangers took the season 1963/64, on the operation of gambling in the Central Professional Hockey League newly established, in which they were the new farm team of the New York Rangers of the National Hockey League. In the premiere season of the league, the St. Paul Rangers reached immediately the championship final, where they lost to the Omaha Knights in the best- of-seven series with 1:4 victories. In the following season the team initially took first place in the regular season, before the playoffs in the Adams Cup, the championship of CPhl won. In the final they defeated the Tulsa Oilers. For the 1965/66 season the team changed its name to Minnesota Rangers. In the regular season, she was again first, left in the playoffs, however, from as early as the first round.

For the season 1966/67, were the Rangers Minnesota to Omaha, Nebraska, moved, and changed their name to Omaha Knights, whose tradition they continue resulted after a year break.
