Stadtwerkstatt

The workshop is a city Linz cultural club and venue. Founded in 1979 by young activists, it is the oldest autonomous cultural center of Linz. History

The city workshop was founded in 1979 as an association in Linz with the " goal of the critical analysis of the conditions of life in the city and the promotion of cultural initiatives at the national level close ".

In 1980 the club moved to an empty factory building in Linz Urfahr, near the Danube, a. The building was used for both residential as well as for exhibition and event purposes. STWST TV

Video productions found their way to various film events and since the founding of the " STWST TV ", which was rarely actually seen on television, the city workshop could make available several times its own transmission concepts also larger audience groups. Events

From the beginning, the club held various events of different ways. There were exhibitions, plays, lectures and of course numerous concerts.
