Structural and driving means

A Stair lift consists of a seat element or platform, a driving unit (usually at the seat ), and a support and guide rail which is mounted on the stairway or on the wall.

Structural and driving devices of Stair lifts are very different, as the 'lifting accessories '. Both the type of people recording ( standing, sitting or wheelchair ) and the staircase structure influence the design of the stair lift. For straight stairs rack drives can be used, which are mounted on the steps or on the wall. For curved stairs often specially curved crossbars and friction drives are used ( single-tube or double pipe systems). These can be mounted on the wall or in place of the banister. The electric motor drive unit together with the load lifting device ( platform or seat) moves along the rack or the supporting pipe runs.

In general, a stair lift is customized and can be set up with appropriate variant selection on most stair forms. If your space before the first stage ( for example, at the front door), the rail can be folded up or down (hinged rail). For the lift with an automatically or manually operated folding rail mechanism must be planned.

This lift is designed for all types of staircase that straight. The seat of the stairlift has while driving the same horizontal position.

This stair lift is intended for all types of staircase, which are round or curvy or extend out over several floors. The rail of the lift can be mounted on the wall side ( outside) or handrail side ( inside). The lift can take different slopes and curves (90 or 180 degrees).

Platform lifts

Platform lifts are primarily intended for wheelchair users. The wheelchair user moves his wheelchair on a flat platform and is secured there by folding barriers and Abrollklappen. There are platform lifts for straight and curved stairs. Depending on the type, loads may be transported. The platform lifts can be secured to the stairs or on the wall. It can be installed both indoors and outdoors. The platform can be folded up when operating alone.

Wheelchair Lifts Suspension

Suspension lifts have a wheelchair suspension instead of the platform. They are fixed to the ceiling instead of the wall. Their use is structurally limited, particularly in small curved staircases. By eliminating lateral installations, this design can also be installed in apartment buildings where otherwise due to building law provisions a narrowing of the stairs is not permitted.

Seated and standing lifts

These stairlifts have a fixed or fold-up seat. The seat lift can be equipped with back and armrests, footrests and seat belt. Thought is this stairlift form for the elderly and physically disabled people, such as wheelchair users. Wheelchairs need for further locomotion but another wheelchair on the objectives days. Seat lifts suitable for straight, curvy and narrower stairs. Because the fit at rest can be folded up on most models, is the seat lift next to the standing lift one of the most beneficial and most space-saving stair lifts. Standing lifts do not have a seat, a small standing platform and grab handles. They are especially suitable for narrow stairs.
