Stará Paka
Stara Paka ( German: Altpaka ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located six kilometers north-west of Nová Paka and belongs to Okres Jičín.
History
Stara Paka was first mentioned in writing in 1357. It is not known when the settlement was made. The place belonged to the rule Kumburk. For 1790 a school is occupied.
In 1858 Stara Paka a station on the railway line Pardubice- Liberec of the South-North German railway connection. With the construction of the connection Velky Osek - Trutnov the Austrian NordWestBahn the Stara Paka station in 1870 became an important railway junction. 1906 nor the local train from Mladá Boleslav ( Mladá Boleslav ) was put into operation.
Attractions
- The St. Lawrence's Church was built in 1754 on the site of an earlier wooden church and expanded in 1890 and renovated.
- Chapel of St. John of Nepomuk
