The streams and ridges Waidbach in the district of Rostock in Mecklenburg- Vorpommern, with their common source streams one of the many Pseudobifurkationen in northeastern Germany.

Headwaters

The all unclassified source streams come from valleys in the vicinity of the 93 m high Danes mountain on the east side of the eastern part of the cooling, the Ivendorfer heights south of Bad Doberan, and form three groups:

  • The northern group consists of a source 73 m above sea level, the creek south flows around the 60.6 m high Kreigenberg and an approximately equal length inflow north of this hill projection.
  • Next to the south there is a single supply, the south of the Voßberges seeps twice before he reached the bottom.
  • The headwaters of the southern group unite with the Hanstorfer district Konow. From there, a part flows entirely above ground to the north, and a fed from subterranean ramifications waters to the northeast. The latter can be temporarily drained towards Waidbach. The westernmost of these sources is the one with the longest stretch of water to the mouth of lands and mill stream at the Jemnitzschleuse.

Apex region

To be derived from the contour lines of natural watershed is estimated to have between (east of ) and Neuhof (east of ) Konow. The map from 1900 clearly shows where the water flowed to the south, but no flow arrows to the north. However, the river bed between Parkentin and Konow has been artificially deepened. The maintenance by the Water and Soil Association aims at a flow line under the path of Konow off after Wilsen. This is followed orient the waters Root. Nevertheless, let the individual cards Waidbach start a kilo Mater further north.

Outflows

Waidbach

To the south of the Waidbach flows through a meadow valley west of Stäbelow and the landscape protection area driving Holzer forest over. After about eight kilometers of the Waidbach is crossed by the federal highway 20 with a viaduct. After another four kilometers it flows south-east of the district Satower Matersen or south-west of Ziesendorf to 3.3 m above sea level. NHN in the Beke that reaches the Warnow river after about twelve kilometers further in Schwaan.

Webs

The northern outflow is called the webs. It runs through Parkentin and Bartenshagen and joins after eight kilometers to the Rotbäk (or Rotbach ). Just 80 meters behind the union there is again a ramification: The greater part of the water is as webs channel (formerly the Rotbach attributed ) directed westward and reached after two kilometers on the northern edge of Bad Doberan the Mill Stream, which flows north-east of Heiligendamm in the Baltic Sea. The mill stream below the confluence of the webs channel is classified with the webs together as the same watercourse. The smaller portion of the water is passed through a sluice in flood dam of Rotbachs or webs channel and flows as lands north of the aforementioned water run through fields and meadows of the valley in the conventer surrounded by bog conventer lake. The covers an area of just over one square kilometer and is separated from the shore by a land bridge of less than half a kilometer wide, the Holy dam after the resort is named. Its sequence opens with the Mill Stream by Jemnitzschleuse in the Baltic Sea. Until the early 1960s, the connection to the Mill Stream in Doberan did not exist. Thus, the webs measured including the Konventer lake and its Jemnitz -called connection with the Baltic Sea about 18 km, including the longest source stream even 21 km away. Nowadays, there are from the rearmost source over the mill stream to the mouth 300 meters more.

Lengths of river, up to their mouth:

  • 3.51 km - unclassified source Bach
  • GWK 963 812, apex waters 2.0 km - from bridge Konow - Wilsen
  • 1.05 km - from confluence of the source stream

Conservation

The Waidbach part of the conservation area driving Holzer forest. In its catchment area there is a high population of frogs and newts. Furthermore, here are home to many endangered and endangered plant species and a valuable insect inventory. The old lower reaches of the webs flows through the nature reserve conventer lake.
