Steven Rose

Steven P. Rose ( born July 4, 1938 in London) is Professor of Biology and Neurobiology at the Open University and the University of London.

Life

Rose grew up in London to a Jewish family. He describes himself as an atheist. He studied biochemistry at King's College and then Neurobiology at the University of Cambridge and the associated Institute of Psychiatry.

Rose is married to the sociologist Hilary Rose. He is a close friend of Leon J. fireplace.

Scientific Work

Rose co-wrote with Richard Lewontin and Leon J. fireplace the controversial book " Not on Our Genes". He also dealt with the development of Alzheimer 's disease. In 2000 he published his book Darwin's dangerous heirs.

Political commitment

Rose is a socialist. He has often criticized the Palestinian policy of the State of Israel and is considered by some people as an anti- Zionist.
