Stochov

Stochov ( German Stochau, also Stochow ) is a city in the Czech Republic. It is located ten kilometers west of Kladno and belongs to Okres Kladno.

Geography

Stochov is located north of Pürglitzer forest in the coal basin of Kladno. In the north of the expressway R6 / E 48 passes, the location at Stochov exit named Kačice. Behind the small river runs Loděnice. Southwest is the disused coal mine " Dul Československé Armády ".

Neighboring towns are Čelechovice in the north, Kačice in the northeast, Srby in the east, and Tuchlovice Slovanka the southeast, Vašírov in the south, Rynholec the southwest, Pecínov and Nové Strašecí in the west and Mšecké Žehrovice in the northwest.

History

Archaeological finds evidence of a settlement during the Celtic period. After the " Kronika česká " of Václav Hájek z Libočan the castle Stochov to have been a seat of the legendary Premyslid Neklan.

Stochov was first documented in the year 1316. Until the 16th century, both sacred and secular lords were owners of Stochau. 1591 bought Jaroslav Borsita Martinic Stochov, he closed the place of the rule Smečno. Thither remained Stochov then humbly until the abolition of patrimonial.

1848 Stochov became an independent municipality in the district of Slany. After the Second World War, the village came to Okres Nové Strašecí.
